Text Sorter

Unordered lists make data harder to scan, compare, and maintain. The Text Sorter tool takes any list you paste — one item per line — and reorders it instantly according to the mode you choose. Four sort modes are available in the Sort by dropdown: Alphabetical for plain A–Z ordering, Numerical for lines that contain numbers and should sort by their numeric value rather than digit order (so item2 lands before item10), By length for ordering lines from shortest to longest, and Natural for a human-friendly hybrid that treats digits as numbers. A Direction control flips the order between Ascending and Descending, while three switches add precision: Case-insensitive matching (on by default), Remove duplicates, and Reverse result. Click Sort lines and the reordered output appears in the Sorted output box with a badge summary showing how many lines went in, how many came out, and how many duplicates were dropped. Whether you are organizing a keyword list, tidying CSV rows, or alphabetizing references, this free line sorter gives you reproducible ordering in one click instead of manual cut-and-paste.

   Paste your list into the Lines to sort text area, one item per line.

   Choose a mode from the Sort by dropdown: Alphabetical, Numerical, By length, or Natural.

• Pick Natural sort whenever digits appear in lines; reserve Alphabetical for pure word lists.
• Clean whitespace and blank lines before sorting so hidden spacing does not distort order.
• Enable Remove duplicates for merged lists, but only when losing repeats is acceptable.
• Sort ascending first and flip with Direction or Reverse result to audit the opposite order without changing inputs.
• Keep the in/out badge summary on screen to confirm the number of lines matches expectations.

• Switch to Natural sort for version lists; Alphabetical will put file10 before file2.
• Numerical sort treats lines without numbers as zero, so keep numeric lists purely numeric for predictable output.
• Enable Remove duplicates before sorting a merged keyword list to sort and dedupe in one click.
• Use Reverse result on a descending date-prefixed list to keep a newest-first feed when you only need order flipping.
