Invoice Generator
Build a printable invoice with line items, tax, and totals.
About the Invoice Generator
The Invoice Generator builds a professional, printable invoice from a short form, with line items, tax, totals, and a live preview that updates as you type. Fill in your company name and address, the client's details, an invoice number, issue and due dates, a tax rate, and a currency — eight options from US Dollar to Brazilian Real, each with its proper symbol and locale formatting — then add rows of descriptions, quantities, and unit prices. The subtotal, tax, and total recompute instantly, and the preview renders a clean, dark-header invoice with a bill-to block, an itemized table, and a totals column, exactly as a client would see it. When the invoice looks right, the Download HTML button saves a standalone, self-contained file you can open in any browser, and the Print button opens a print-ready window for saving as PDF. Payment terms and notes accept multi-line text and appear beneath the totals, and the default template ships with a realistic three-item example so you can see the finished format before typing anything. Freelancers and small businesses use it to send polished client billing without accounting software, and because nothing is stored on a server, your invoice data never leaves the browser.

Common use cases
- Sending a freelance development invoice with itemized hours and screens.
- Producing a branded consulting invoice with multi-line payment terms.
- Creating a product invoice in a client's currency, such as EUR or GBP.
- Generating a tax-free invoice by setting the rate to zero.
- Printing a paper copy for clients who prefer physical documents.
- Drafting a bill quickly during a meeting and exporting it on the spot.
Best practices
- Use sequential, unique invoice numbers — the field is free text, so a scheme like INV-0001 is up to you.
- Set the tax rate to the figure your jurisdiction requires; the tool applies it flat across the whole subtotal.
- Double-check due dates and payment terms before sending — they print on the document exactly as typed.
- Download the HTML file as your record, since nothing is saved automatically anywhere.
- Keep line descriptions specific; itemized invoices get paid faster and with fewer questions.
- Print to PDF rather than paper when you need to email the invoice as an attachment.
Tips
- The Live preview card renders the exact document layout, so check it before exporting.
- Notes support line breaks and print under the totals — ideal for payment terms.
- The Items, Subtotal, Tax, and Total stats give a quick summary without scrolling to the preview.
- Use the trash icon on a row to remove it; totals adjust immediately.
