The Water Intake Calculator turns your body weight, daily activity, and climate into a personalized daily hydration target in seconds. Whether you train in a humid gym or work in an air-conditioned office, knowing how much water to drink per day removes the guesswork from one of the simplest and most overlooked parts of health management. The tool applies the common 35 ml per kilogram guideline, adds 350 ml for every 30 minutes of activity you log, and applies a climate adjustment of +500 ml in hot or humid conditions or minus 200 ml in cold ones. Results appear live as three figures: your total daily water need in millilitres, the same volume in litres, and an equivalent number of 250 ml cups, which makes it easy to translate the science into a water bottle you actually own. Because the estimate includes water from beverages and food, it works as a daily drinking target rather than a strict medical prescription. Best practices

  • Treat the result as a guideline, not a clinical prescription — thirst and urine colour remain the best personal hydration checks.
  • Count all beverages and water-rich foods toward the total, since the estimate is inclusive of both.
  • Re-check your activity estimate: minutes are credited in whole 30-minute blocks, so 29 minutes counts as zero.
  • Switch between kg and lb carefully — the toggle converts pounds with the factor 0.45359237, but mixing units in your head invites errors.
  • Re-evaluate on hot days: the +500 ml climate adjustment is a flat add, so very long heat exposure may call for more.
  • If the calculator shows a need far above your current intake, increase gradually over several days rather than in one sitting.

  • Use the 250 ml cups figure to fill a labelled bottle once in the morning and track refills instead of sips.
